You know what’s funny? Ajankohtaisohjelmariippuvuus.

A-studion intensiivinen kulutus.

Ei silti tarvitse edes mennä tilanteeni kaltaiseen ääripäähän tajutakseen miten äärettömän tärkeitä nämä asiat ovat. Heti käsitettyäni taloustiedon perusteet jopa Kajaanin irtisanomiset saivat paikkaansa in the big picture, niin sanoakseni.

Take that, juro EU-fobi.

Anyway. Kiitos Enbuske, kiitos Nyman. Aivotoiminta heräsi ja välinpitämätön henkinen anemia katosi. Ainakin toistaiseksi.

Touched, sang, felt, twisted, shouted, jumped a little lighter.

Springsteen’s still the man. Actually, he may be more of that than ever. And it’s amazing how they manage to kick up the whole crowd - both young and old, new and more experienced fans.

I really wish I could say something cynical about anything, but I’m still hung up on that mad springsteen-y energy. Baby, if you wanna be wild / you got a lot to learn.

Setlist from Backstreets.com (fav crowd dynamics in bold):

Night
Out in the Street
Radio Nowhere
No Surrender
Hungry Heart
Spirit in the Night
Summertime Blues
Sherry Darling
4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)
I’ll Work for Your Love
Candy’s Room
Youngstown
Murder Incorporated
The Promised Land
She’s the One
Livin’ in the Future
Mary’s Place
Point Blank
The Rising (an almost religious experience, actually)
Last to Die
Long Walk Home
Born in the U.S.A.
Badlands
* * *
Girls in Their Summer Clothes
Tenth Avenue Freeze-out
Born to Run
Rosalita (!!!)
Dancing in the Dark
American Land
Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town

"You do it because you're driven."

Not talking about a Pop-Tart binge, but something recklessly high-speed - the new Wachowski production.

Speed Racer is visually amazing - such innovation, such colour, such a cinematic breakthrough in many ways. Candy colours and surreal views rush through the flick second by second and anyone prone to enjoy all things visual (who, me?) can’t but sit and relax.

Sure, although the plot (faithful to the original comic) works and Hirsch & Sarandon really are incapable of failing, we again encounter the stiff lines aux monsieurs Matrix. The dialogue is as cliché as ever with lengthy touchy-feely dialogues. Moreover, sirs Whack and Boom don’t seem to have decided on a target group for all the sweet neon madness as they cram the story with both confusing conspiracies and over-acting like in a Disney film - making it sag for all age groups.

But though the allure of the poorly written film is primarily the all-hypnotic, all-fresh visual atmosphere by the masters, the story succeeds in portraying an innocent childhood dream and solid family love in a more sincere manner than I’ve seen in a long time.

What’s so wrong about believing in your dreams anyway? It’s not like a levelheaded human being is going to get eternally hurt. And it’s only logical to acknowledge that reaching for the stars is going to get you pretty high even when you fall.
